Richards Apologizes On Letterman

Michael Richards apologized for his rascist rant at a comedy club last week for during a taping of The David Letterman Show.
Jerry Seinfeld was appearing on the show and said he had asked Richards to also appear--he did so remotely--to try to explain himself, saying he thought Richards deserved the chance.
Ealier in the day, Seinfeld called it a horrible mistake and in essence apologized for Richards for the hurt the comments had caused.
A clearly shaken Richards told the Letterman audience that he was deeply sorry and that he had lost control after being repeatedly heckled during his act.
Richards, who gained fame as Kramer on Seinfeld's hit NBC sitcom, said he was not a racist.
African American patrons of the club--and everybody else--got a different vibe when Richards angrily and repeatedly used the 'n' word in reference to the heckler and made a reference to lynching.

ok so it''''s true black people do use the n word and maybe richards was getting back at the heckler. however his actions were very insulting and there is no way to truly down play it. what he did was not attack the heckler but i whole group of people. there is a better why to insult a person without insulting an entire race. not only did he say it but he said it with such passion and force. he went on and on with hate and anger. that is what makes it wrong. a word is just a word but when that word is backed with passion, force and hate then it becomes wrong.
as a african american i have ever used the n word and i think it''''s wrong for anyone to use it. but the use of the n word by teens is conpletely different from when richards used it and for anyone to say different is insane.

Reality Check: Black People will always be "N***..S"
to mainstream "America", because WE refuse to recognize ourselves or demand respect for ourselves. It is a representation of the intellectual levels of the so-called rich & famous. When threatened, "they" give you the "real" side of themselves. The side where WE will always be "N***..s!"

he clearly has issues. nobody loses their temper and immediately starts flailing off racial epithets like that unless they use them frequently and casually in their daily lives. he lost control of the situation and the mental filter that normally weeds those thoughts and words out. dude''''s career is over and from what i hear he didn''''t get much from the seinfeld syndie or dvd''''s. burger king, here he comes.

He was over the top, obviously either coked up or having been drinking heavily. There are ways to deal with hecklers. What came out of his mouth was really a bad move. A hostile bad move. Racist? Maybe. Anger issues? Definately. This guy is not Kramer from Seinfeld. He''s an ego driven frustrated actor, afraid now for his career which hasn''t been so hot since 1997...Did he do permanent damage? I don''t think so. Would I like to break bread with this guy? No way. He''s an ass. And it was very big of Seinfeld to cover his ass so quickly.

Nobody blames the Heckler?

Look at the divide. Black people say they can use the N word. But prohibit non-blacks from doing so.
They say it is offensive?
No double standard here.
