The 18th Annual Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame – recognized as the leading industry event honoring the pioneers, the innovators and the stars of the electronic arts – will be celebrated on October 21st at a formal dinner at New York’s Waldorf - Astoria. This year’s host of the awards ceremony is industry veteran, and a 2001 Hall of Fame honoree, Katie Couric.

2008 Inductees

    Roger Ailes

    Chairman and CEO, FOX News and FOX Television Stations
    Roger Ailes serves as the Chairman and CEO of Fox News as well as the Chairman of Fox Television Stations and is a senior advisor to Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of the News Corp. Ltd. Since joining Fox in 1996 Ailes created FOX News Sunday and the FOX News Channel and launched the FOX Business Network, a 24 hour cable channel.

    David Barrett

    President and Chief Executive Officer, Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc.
    David Barrett is President and CEO of Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc. (NYSE: HTV). A board member of Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc. and The Hearst Corporation, he was elected as one of the 13 lifetime testamentary trustees of the trust established under the will of William Randolph Hearst in September of 2007.

    Matt Blank

    Chairman and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc.
    Matt Blank, in a career spanning three decades, has made a significant and indelible mark on the cable television industry. Mr.Blank joined Showtime in 1988 assuming the role of President and COO in 1991 and his present position as Chairman and CEO in 1995.

    Glenn Britt

    President and CEO, Time Warner Cable
    Glenn A. Britt was named President and CEO of Time Warner Cable in February 2006 having served as chief executive since 2001 in addition to serving on the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Britt previously served as President and CEO of Time Warner Cable Ventures where he oversaw the launch of Road Runner, the country's first high-speed Internet service.

    Don Browne

    President, Telemundo Communications Group
    Don Browne was named president of Telemundo Communications Group, inc. in April 2005 where he oversees all functions of the Telemundo television network and its 16 owned and operated stations, including the Entertainment division, Telemundo Studios, News, Sports,Telemundo International, and Telemundo's cable and Digital Media initiatives.

    Bob Cook

    President and Chief Operating Officer, Twentieth Television
    President and COO Bob Cook joined Twentieth Television in 2000 as one of the industry's most respected syndication and television executives. Cook oversees the domestic syndication business for the FOX studios, which includes all of the off-net product sales and 20th first run productions distributed to every local broadcast station and cable network throughout the US.

    Herb Granath

    Chairman Emeritus of ESPN, Co-Chairman of Crown Media Holdings, and Vice Chairman, Central European Media
    Herbert A. Granath is Chairman Emeritus of ESPN and Co-Chairman of Crown Media Holdings, Inc., which owns and operates the Hallmark Channel and the Hallmark Film Channel. He also serves as Vice Chairman of Central European Media, Ronald Lauder's international company which owns television and radio stations in Eastern Europe.

    Peggy Green

    Vice Chairman, Zenith Media
    Peggy Green was promoted to Vice Chairman Zenith Media, a unit of Publicis Groupe SA, on January 18th, 2008. Ms. Green is charged with providing strategic oversight to Zenith's video investments and marketplace approach interfacing with the agency's key vendor community within the highest levels of America's top media companies.

    Matt Lauer

    Co-anchor, NBC News Today
    Matt Lauer has been co-anchor of NBC News "Today" since January 1997 having joined the program in January 1994 as news anchor. Previously, Lauer was at WNBC-TV serving as a co-anchor of "Today in New York" from 1992 to 1994, and as co-anchor of the early evening newscast "Live at Five" from 1993 to 1996.

    President and CEO, The Paley Center for Media
    From news anchor and network correspondent to President/CEO of PBS to launching her own production company, Pat Mitchell’s career is characterized by her focus on media as a powerful force for social change.

    President and Chief Executive Officer,

    One of the cable industry's premier innovators and a pioneer in the entertainment industry, Joshua Sapan leads Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corporation.
